When is the Medina County Fair?
The fair is July 30-August 5, 2018. The gates are open for the fair Monday through Saturday: 8:00a.m. - 11:00 p.m. and Sunday:  8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. (animals and projects released at 8:00 p.m.; Vendors open until 10:00 p.m.; Fireworks at 10:00pm)

What are daily admission prices?
Admission to the fair is $6.00 for ages 12 and over, $3.00 for ages 2 through 11 as well as 65 years and older. Under age 2 is FREE. On Monday, veterans get free gate admission all day with proper identification. Also on Monday, admission is $3.00 for everyone until 3:00 p.m. On Wednesday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. kids up to and including 11 years old will receive free admission to the fair. Sunday, first responders in Medina County receive free admission with proper identification. Also on Sunday, there is $1.00 off an adult admission with a canned good donation.
We will also have Half-Hour Gate Passes that will be issued for $6.00 until 3:00 p.m. each day. If you return within a half hour at the gate where it was issued, the $6.00 will be refunded.

Is parking free?
If you park on the fairgrounds, yes, parking is free. However, there are some spaces surrounding the fairgrounds that charge for parking. Handicap parking is available by the Lafayette Rd.(Route 42) entrance.

How do I get a refund for fair related purchases?
Any refunds from vendors such as food concessions, rides or games are done through those businesses, not the Fair Office. Otherwise, you can pick up a refund request form in the Fair Office. Once returned to the office, it goes to the Senior Fair Board to be voted on. 
Can I bring my pet to the fair?
No, unless they are a trained service animal that does work or performs a task for a person with a disability. They are also allowed if the animal is in a competition. Guests with these animals must retain control of their animals at all times and must keep them on a leash or harness while visiting.

What is your policy on CCW?  
You may carry on the fairgrounds as long as you have a license to carry.
Can I bring outside food to the fair?
Outside food and drink is allowed, however any outside glass and alcohol products are not allowed.
Where is the fairgrounds located?
The address for the blacktop parking lot is 735 Lafayette Rd., Medina, OH 44256.

FROM CLEVELAND AND COLUMBUS: Take I-71 to Route 18 West. Follow the signs for Route 18 through Downtown Medina. Take Rt 42 (Lafayette Rd.) South, the fairgrounds will be on the right past the railroad tracks.

FROM AKRON: Take I-76 to Route 3 North. Turn left at Route 42 (Lafayette Rd.) South, the fairgrounds will be on the right past the railroad tracks.

FROM THE WEST: Take Route 18 East to Route 42 (Lafayette Rd.) South. The fairgrounds will be on the right past the railroad tracks.
How much do the rides at the fair cost?
Single tickets for rides are $1 each or 12 for $10. The smaller rides are three tickets per ride and the big rides take four tickets each ride. Unlimited ride wristbands are available for $15. They are $10 on Wednesday for Kid’s Day. Ride tickets/wristbands are not good on RAIDERS, CLIMBING WALL, RED GARTER, LIVE PONIES, or BOUNCE.

How do I know what events are going on during the fair?

These schedules can also be found at the gates and at the Fair Office.
Is there scooter, wheelchair, stroller or wagon rentals?
At this time, we do not have any rentals. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Can I bring a motorized wheelchair to the fair?
Yes, motorized and manual wheelchairs are welcomed at the fair.  Mobility around the grounds has been made easier by the recent paving of the midway and walkways. Strollers/wagons are also allowed. Motorized vehicles such as golf carts are not allowed to be brought in by patrons.

What if someone gets lost at the Fair?
If you or someone in your group gets separated from each other, please immediately alert the announcer’s booth (#19) under the grandstands, the Fair Office or the security booth (#24) near the dairy cattle barn (#28).
Where is first aid available during the Fair?
The first aid booth (#26) is located next to the rabbit barn (#25).
What if I lose something at the Fair?
If you realize your missing object that day, check with the announcer’s booth under the grandstands, the Fair Office or the security booth near the cattle barn. If it is after that, contact the Fair Office.
What is the Fair's smoking policy?
Smoking is not permitted in the following areas: in any building or under cover, within 25 feet of the Community Center building and anywhere within the Grandstands. Tobacco products will not be sold anywhere on the Fairgrounds.
Do you accept credit cards at the gate?
Yes, only at Gates #2, #4, #9 and #10 (Fair Office gate, Memorial Garden/Smith Rd. Gate & Community Center Gate).
Do you have ATMs on the grounds?
Yes, we have three ATMs on grounds. They are located at the fair office, Building 22 and the Community Center.
Can I leave and come back to the fair?
Yes, you can leave and come back to the fair as long as it is on the same day. You also must make sure that you obtain a re-entry stamp from the gate attendant.
I’m in 4-H, how do I get my premium money?
If you have any premium money to pick up for 4-H or schools, you can come to the Fair Office during the designated times during fair week for your money. Fair money will not be available outside those hours. The available hours are Friday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You must have your fair pass and the person whose name is on that pass must be present.
I’m interested in being a vendor at the fair, what do I do?
Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Medina County Fair! We handle all of our concessions through an application process. You can fill out an application at https://www.medina-fair.com/location/vendors-application and return it to the Fair Office. The concessions committee votes on your application and if it is voted on favorably, you will be offered a contract.
Grandstand Events FAQ
My child is 1, do they still need a ticket?
No, under the age of 2, they don’t need a grandstand ticket. They must be sitting on a lap. If they will be using a seat, they need to purchase a ticket.
Where can I get a Pit Pass for the grandstand?
Gate 1 is the Pit Pass Gate. Admission at this gate is the fair admission ($6) + Pit Pass Fee ($11) NO MATTER the age. That means that even under 2 needs a pass. You can also get a Pit Pass at Building 14 on the grounds for $11. There is no Pit Passes for the concert on Thursday or the Buckin' Ohio Bull riding event on Sunday.
Are grandstand tickets general admission?
No. All tickets to events are assigned seating. You will select a seat when you go to purchase tickets yourself online or by coming in to the Fair Office. If you are purchasing the tickets right before the event, the Fair Office staff will choose the best available tickets for you at that time at Building 14.
I got tickets to an event and I don’t want them anymore, can I get a refund?
No, as stated on the tickets, the policy is no refunds or exchanges.
I don’t want to wait in the line to buy grandstand tickets, is there another way?
Yes! You can beat the line and purchase your tickets to any grandstand event early online at https://www.medina-fair.com/resource/grandstand-event-ticket-sales.
I require handicap seating, is there an option for me for grandstand events?
Yes. We have reserved handicap seating for all of our grandstand events. You can purchase this seating by visiting or calling the Fair Office at (330) 723-9633.
Can I bring my stroller into the grandstands?
We do not allow any strollers into the grandstands. There is a place underneath the grandstands where you can store your stroller, however, you would be doing so at your own risk.
